Using the descendent line it is possible to discover the period during which the family name changed from BROOK to BROOKS, most probably as a result of a spelling or transcription error at the time of the recording of an event.
The original research was undertaken by Don Dickson using the resources of the Aberdeen Family History Centre, the General register Office in Edinburgh, and interviews with surviving members of the family.
